YAAAAWWWWN! OH hello again rumor fans! As you can probably judge from my rousing exciting introduction, things are very slow around Hedgehog central! As a result this week?s network is a bit short! Not surprising really, I personally think there?s a video game industry conspiracy with the government to get us out of our homes and outside during the summer time! Well anyways check out what I got, if you don?t like it well, you can always go outside and go hunting for groundhogs or something!
XFactor in Review
For those of you that missed discovery channels amazing show XFactor: Inside the Microsoft XBOX fear not! For not only did the Hedgehog watch it twice, he also took notes on all the important parts. Gamers who watched the show can pretty much ignore this thread everyone else, enjoy!
Oddworld 4 Looks like Gabbits really did become extinct; and if Lorne has anything to say about it, they?ll stay that way! Oddworld 4 will star a brand new character with no sparky fish, or flatulent Mudokons in sight. Steef, is a bounty hunter whose a cross between a Stag, Gorrilla, and a lion mixed with the attitude of Clint Eastwood. Old Network fans will remember me telling them that Lanning was considering taking the Oddworld series in a different direction this time, and that?s exactly what he?s done! Instead of a platform-esque action game, gamers will take Steef through more of a Hybrid between a shooter and an adventure game! Oddworld 4 will also take place in the open frontier lands of Oddworld, far away from the more civilized areas, sounds like a Western gone horribly, um odd!
Halo 2 While the boys at Bungie were obviously trying to be careful they did let a few things slip. The biggest shocker was that in Halo 2 the Chief will apparently head back to his old stomping grounds, on the ruins of the original Halo! Why the humans head back there and the events leading up to it are of course still unkown. Still fans have to wonder, if Halo is coming back in the sequel, will Guilty Spark still be floating around as well?
The Hedgehog?s Take- Gamers who missed the show should be especially sad if they were Psychonauts fans because they also showed some alpha footage of the game being made!
Equal in Every Way!
Star Wars: KOTOR will indeed support XBOX Live, but not in a galactic sized way mind you. Anyone familiar with both versions of the game, XBOX and PC, would know that the PC version will be getting some extra goodies because it?s shipping about six months later! As it stands, all the little extras included in the PC version, will eventually make it to the XBOX version as downloadable content. Among these extras are an entire new planet to explore along with new sidequests and items!
The Hedgehog?s Take - That?s great but if this game isn?t released soon there gonna have to rename it Knights of the ?VERY? Old Republic!
They Won?t Leave me Alone!
Another new feature of Microsoft?s new XSN sports lineup has been revealed. These games will take a queue from THQ?s, MotoGP 2. As so long as you?ve got a broadband pipe plugged into your Box you?ll always be online! Even in single player modes, if you set a new wins record or change the lineup of your team, XSN will know about it immediately!
The Hedgehog?s Take- Kind of makes secret weapons in your lineup not so secret anymore!
Finally, an Amusing fact!
Not really a rumor but certainly something to make you stop and either think, or look like you are staring at a train wreck! Like everyone else Microsoft has been asking gamers, developers, and just about anyone who will listen to the question what they want in XBOX Next! Strangely enough the most requested addition is probably not what you might have thought. Ready for this, the most wanted addition for XBOX Next is, A DEDICATED RESET BUTTON! It just goes to show you; sometimes it really is the simple stuff that matters most!

Like I said gamers things are slow, but you shouldn?t take this as a sign that the games industry and XBOXActive are leaving you to hang! We just want you to get out and enjoy the summer while you can! Play Paintball, build a birdhouse, even hunt Groundhogs like I said just do something that doesn?t involve a TV! Just uh, make sure you distinguish between a Groundhog and a Hedgehog now before you shoot it. You wouldn?t hunt Hedgehog?s, would you??

Still the same regurgitated crap. Sega, the company he keeps claiming he has sooo many ties and informants to, said they are going to make a major game announcement soon, and judging from his usual posting of anything Sega, his 'informants' did not let him in on it.

Hedge, as usual a great article. I have followed you here from other dark places which shall remain unmentioned, and it is worth the trip. I do have to ask, though - are you planning on carrying the web site? The site goes for days without new info. Still a fan of the hedgehog, though.

Have you seen the trailer for Star Wars: Republic Commando at gametrailers.com or lucasarts.com? WOW! I get the feel that it's somewhat like Ghost Recon with the cloned Republic soldiers/commandos. Suppose to be coming to PC and XBOX. Worth a look.

I wonder what's going on with Bungie and their episodic game? This is very old news from the rumor mole in OXM of last years November magazine. I think it is still good news though because the rumor mole said there were two developmental team at Bungie and one working on the episodic game the other hard working on Halo 2. Good job in slow times Hedgehog boy.

Hedge your report was great considering it is in the mist of what I like to call the not so slow times. KOTOR, MM3, POTC, and Gladius should keep us all busy until the next onslaught.
